Transport Planner

Surefreight Limited are one of Irelands leading haulage companies operating for over 30 years, we specialise in transporting full and part loads both to and from the UK, we operate with a modern fleet of 160+ HGV units and offer a wide range of services to our customers including full loads, groupage, warehousing and customs clearance. Our Branches are located in Newry, Heysham and Cardiff.

Transport Planner We are seeking a motivated and organised Transport Planner to join our busy operations team in Newry. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination of our fleet while delivering excellent service to our customers.

Working Hours Monday to Friday: 8:30am 5:30pm, out of hours schedule 1 day per week 1 Saturday in every , in the office and out of hours over that weekend.

Key Responsibilities Receive and process customer orders accurately Input job details into the traffic management system Provide ETA's to our customers Manage bookings mailbox Book in loads with customers Monitor and track vehicle movements in real time Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams About You Minimum 1 years experience in a similar transport planning or logistics role Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport/traffic systems Excellent communication and telephone manner Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively Strong team player with good problem-solving skills Desirable (but not essential) Knowledge of UK & Ireland transport regulations Experience in groupage or general haulage operations Benefits Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Healthcare / medical support Opportunity to develop within a growing logistics company Supportive team environment
