About South Devon Care ServicesSouth Devon Care Services is an established and growing care provider based in South Devon. We operate three residential care homes and four supported living services, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and support to individuals with a range of needs.
Role purposeWe are seeking an Administrator to join the business on an Operations Pathway, supporting the day‑to‑day running of the organisation while developing a broad understanding of how the business operates.
This role is open to individuals from a range of backgrounds and career stages. The role is bespoke to our organisation, and full training will be provided, including close working and shadowing with the Operations Manager during the initial months. The position is designed to build confidence, capability, and ownership over time. This is an ideal opportunity for a individual who is organised, curious, and keen to build a long‑term career in operations or business management.
Keyresponsibilities Administration & operational support
- Managing and processing routine administrative tasks across the business
- Coordinating orders, supplies, and equipment
- Monitoring and updating trackers
- Supporting invoicing processes and financial administration
- Managing documentation for staff onboarding and offboarding
- Maintaining accurate digital records
- Handling routine queries
- Using and maintaining internal systems such as Planday, PCS, and other operational platforms
- Supporting the setup and administration of devices and user access
- Supporting the administration of compliance activities, such as staff training records
- Liaising with external suppliers and contractors under guidance
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring actions are followed through
- Escalating issues or risks appropriately
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to gain a working understanding operational processes and workflows
- Gradually taking ownership of defined areas of responsibility
- Contributing ideas to improve efficiency and organisation
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and deadlines
- Confident using IT systems and learning new software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take responsibility
- Degree or equivalent qualification (any discipline)
- Experience in an administrative, operational, or coordination role
- Interest in operations, compliance, or business management
Previous experience is not essential. Full training and support will be provided, and the role will be shaped as the successful candidate develops.
