Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established manufacturing business for an experienced Purchasing Lead. This hands‑on role combines strategic procurement with day‑to‑day operational responsibility, ideal for someone looking to make a real impact across supply chain performance, cost control, and service delivery.

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including on‑site and off‑site visits.
• Develop and deliver supply chain initiatives and strategic improvements.
• Issue supply forecasts and monitor KPIs and supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers on an ongoing basis.

• Oversee the purchasing and MRP process.
• Raise purchase orders for stock and ad‑hoc requirements.
• Ensure process compliance and continuous improvement against KPIs.
• Liaise with Finance to ensure accurate PO matching.
• Maintain data integrity within the ERP system.

• Manage inventory levels to maintain service and reduce dead stock.
• Identify supply constraints and implement contingency plans.
• Support bi‑annual stock takes alongside the Warehouse team.
• Monitor inventory value against budget and performance indicators.

• Lead, develop, and support the purchasing/supply chain team.
• Conduct annual performance reviews.
• Promote best practice and continuous improvement.

• Proven experience developing and managing procurement or supply chain strategies.
• Experience purchasing from and managing global suppliers.
• Leadership or team management experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proactive, team‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
