We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join Fieldstone School.
About the Role
You will lead high-quality indoor and outdoor physical activity sessions, promote confidence and wellbeing, and support pupils with a range of complex needs. Your work will help pupils develop essential physical, social and emotional skills while fostering a love for movement, health and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organise engaging sports sessions and physical activities.
- Create developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and motivating activities.
- Work closely with teaching staff to link physical learning with the wider curriculum.
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs during activities.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment at all times.
- Monitor pupil engagement and progress, sharing insights with the wider team.
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Deliver enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in all aspects of your work.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
- Experience in sports coaching, physical activity delivery, or similar.
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in Sport, Outdoor Education or a related discipline.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND or complex learning needs.
- Adaptable, patient and able to tailor activities to individual needs.

Fieldstone School is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. This can be for many reasons, including a range of behavioural, emotional and educational challenges, exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum. Other difficulties such as sensory processing disorders, attachment disorders or those having faced trauma in their lives.
