Axcis Education is supporting an independent SEND provision in Newton Abbot and is looking for a full‑time Science Tutor to deliver bespoke science lessons to a post‑16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis.
The working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Pay ranges from £130–£145 a day, depending on previous science tutoring experience. The position is temp‑to‑perm following a successful induction period.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and tailored science lessons on a 1:1 basis.
- Support the educational and personal development of a post‑16 student with ASD and complex needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience.
- Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of science.
- Experience tutoring science at KS4 and A‑level.
- Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
- A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
