Position: High Level Teaching Assistant

High Level Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp-to-perm role September 2026

This school provides a calm, organised, and supportive learning environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, caring adults, and engaging teaching. Leaders work closely with support staff to uphold high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, motivated, and confident in their learning. Pupils respond well to purposeful lessons and consistent support that encourages independence, resilience, and steady academic progress.

Duties as High-Level Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide high‑quality support to teachers across different classes and subjects
  • Lead small groups and deliver planned learning activities
  • Offer targeted support to individual pupils, including those with SEND
  • Assist with planning and preparation of learning materials
  • Maintain positive behaviour and consistent routines
  • Support assessment processes and contribute to pupil progress notes
  • Supervise classes during teacher absence where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal High-Level Teaching Assistant:
  • Prior experience working in a school setting is essential
  • HLTA status or relevant TA qualifications are beneficial
  • Confident in leading groups and delivering pre‑planned learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Effective behaviour management and the ability to motivate pupils
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to use initiative
  • Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting well‑being

Salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE.
