Job Description
A leading manufacturer of metal products is looking for a Design Engineer to join their team at their office based in the Dudley area.
The ideal candidate will be a hard‑working, adaptable and personable Design Engineer with a strong background in 2D AutoCAD, with experience in the sheet metal industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity with a leading company who are expanding rapidly, with a goal of doubling their turnover within the next decade.
The Design department is currently operating on a straight days shift pattern, on a 40 hour work week, five days in the office, 07:30 : 16:00.

SalaryGBP 40,000 – GBP 45,000
Key Areas of Responsibilities- Collaborate with customers and Sales to clarify engineering requirements and specifications.
- Prepare and release accurate drawings, specifications and production data to support manufacturing and delivery "right first time".
- Review work orders and drawings to minimise errors and rework.
- Use and maintain CAD/CAM systems and records to enable efficient order processing.
- Support process development, continuous improvement and material optimisation.
- Assist production teams with process updates, training and in-process quality checks.
- Help identify and resolve design or specification issues in collaboration with production teams.
- Contribute to cost control initiatives, value engineering and make:or:buy decisions.
- Maintain design standards and support standardisation projects.
- Stay informed on manufacturing capabilities, materials and emerging production techniques.
- Undertake additional duties within the scope of the role as required.
- HND or degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D) and Radan (2D).
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work.
