Anti-Social Behaviour And Safeguarding Officer
- Salary: £25.21ph
- Location:
Head Office, TQ12 - Hours:
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (hybrid) - Till June 2027
To work within the Neighbourhood Services team to case manage anti-social behaviour within Teignbridge. To support colleagues within the wider team to problem solve complex cases with a community impact. To ensure engagement of partnership agencies to support problem solving.
Manage Safeguarding cases and advise on safeguarding matters as the Council's Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo manage the Council's response to ASB across Teignbridge by:
- Responding to the public experiencing ASB and officers of other agencies in relation to ASB.
- Liaising with numerous statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Provide a central point of co-ordination for any agency within the Teignbridge wishing to reduce ASB.
- Identifying and implementing appropriate interventions including enforcement action to reduce risk and impact.
To deliver the ASB escalation process by:
- Writing reports, and warning letters
- Preparing all Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Community Protection Warning letters and Community Protection Notices and other initiatives to reduce ASB
- Provide guidance to Devon & Cornwall Constabulary and staff of other agencies in relation to ASB and the escalation process
To problem solve complex cases with a community impact by:
- Identifying and responding to complex cases that are having a detrimental impact on the community.
- Co-ordination of the Council's response
- Experience in managing safeguarding cases.
- Legal experience (Preparation of Court files and evidence packages).
- Experience in enforcement and risk management.
- Experience handling highly confidential information, intelligence and material in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and codes of practice.
- An in depth knowledge of the relevant UK legislation and policing procedures and methods
- Must have knowledge of - ASB and Safeguarding legislation and guidance including ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014
