Role Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Pharmacy Technician to join a specialist healthcare facility in Gloucester . Based at The Dean Neurological Centre , this role offers the chance to work within a modern neurological service providing specialist care for individuals with complex long-term conditions. You will play a key role in supporting safe medicines management, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high standards of clinical governance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with GP services, multidisciplinary teams, and pharmacy providers to ensure timely medication ordering and secure receipt on site Respond promptly to medication safety alerts to prioritise patient safety Maintain secure storage and handling of medicines in line with best practice Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings to support integrated care planning Support clinical governance processes and recommend improvements to practice and policy where appropriate Maintain compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements Escalate quality or safety concerns in line with organisational policy Provide expert pharmacy support across departments Conduct audits and work with pharmacy providers and nursing staff to improve service delivery Essential Requirements Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (or equivalent qualification) Minimum of two years' supervised experience in a pharmacy setting Strong understanding of medicines management, governance, and patient safety standards Excellent communication and organisational skills About the Service The Dean Neurological Centre is a 60-bed specialist service supporting individuals with complex long-term neurological conditions.
The centre focuses on slow-stream rehabilitation, maximising independence, comfort, and quality of life. Facilities include high-dependency care environments, dedicated therapy spaces, gardens, and recreational areas designed to enhance wellbeing.
