Community Facilities Team Leader
Reporting to our Community Facilities Manager, this is one of two posts based at Newton Abbot Hospital, supporting the day‑to‑day management of 32 staff on site and 2 staff in Teignmouth Hospital. The role coordinates all facilities services on a daily basis and is key to supporting patient flow, maintaining our Trust's Cleaning and Infection Control Policies, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties- Co‑ordinate and monitor facilities services within the community hospitals, health and wellbeing centres and other buildings.
- Communicate effectively with staff at all levels within our organization, with patients and external suppliers.
- Participate in meetings as required (weekly team meetings, monthly team meetings, and weekly operational management team briefings).
- Assist the Workplace Division by providing an effective cascade of information to all Facilities Services staff.
- Maintain good handover processes to supervisor colleagues as part of the working rota.
- Support the implementation of the Trust's complaints policy, overseeing complaints and compliments relating to the service and participating in investigations as required.
- Respond positively to external inspections, such as unannounced CQC or Environmental Health attendance, recognizing when to escalade issues to line managers.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and members of the public at all times.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and respond to all staff with humanity and kindness.
- Act as a role model, valuing everyones opinion and treating team members equally and with respect.

- Assist the Facilities Operations Leadership team to meet all Trust and Workforce Division targets for mandatory/essential training and performance.
- Assist with promoting incident reporting within facilities operations services and ensure incidents are managed and reported appropriately.
- Ensure that all waste is correctly sorted into the appropriate waste streams, labelled and disposed of according to policy, and taken to designated points.
- Investigate and respond to complaints/feedback thoroughly and professionally, ensuring a plan is in place to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Prioritise daily service and staffing allocation against agreed rota and resolve staffing issues on a daily basis.
Priority will be given to applicants with recognised 'Priority' or 'At Risk' status, including NHS staff identified across Devon.
Qualifications- Basic education to GCSE Level including English and Maths qualifications
- Experience of supervising and motivating teams
- NVQ3 Supervisory Management / ILM3 or equivalent qualification
- Experience of supervising large teams of staff in an NHS setting
