About the Senior Community Enforcement Advisor Role
We are looking for an experienced and committed Senior Community Enforcement Advisor to join our team and play a key role in creating safe, respectful and thriving communities for our residents.
In this role, you will provide specialist advice and support to our Community Housing Officers (CHOs) and Community Housing Advisors (CHAs), ensuring that our Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Policy and Procedure is applied consistently, fairly and effectively.
You will review complex cases, advise colleagues on appropriate action and take the lead in working with partner organisations and multi-agency teams to address ASB and tenancy breaches.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Community Enforcement Advisor, you will:
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to CHOs and CHAs on ASB and tenancy breach cases.
- Review cases to ensure appropriate, proportionate and consistent action is being taken.
- Take the lead on complex cases and multi-agency liaison, working closely with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Oversee action to ensure residents comply with the terms and conditions of their tenancy.
- Prepare cases for court, working closely with legal specialists and partner agencies to ensure robust evidence and documentation.
- Support the effective enforcement of tenancy conditions and appropriate escalation where required.
- Help ensure residents understand Teign Housing’s role, and the role of other agencies, in tackling ASB and tenancy breaches.
- Communicate clearly with residents about enforcement processes, relevant timescales and the thresholds that need to be met before enforcement action can be taken.
- Promote and publicise Teign Housing’s work in tackling ASB and tenancy breaches to residents and partner agencies.
- Ensure all work is undertaken with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and fairness, in line with company policies and procedures.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and committed housing professional with a strong understanding of tenancy management, Landlord and Tenant legislation and the effective management of anti-social behaviour (ASB). You will have experience of managing complex cases, tenancy enforcement and preparing cases for court action, alongside a proven ability to work collaboratively with residents, colleagues and a range of partner agencies.
Ideally, you will hold, or be working towards, a relevant housing qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above and have at least two years’ experience in housing management and/or ASB. You will have a sound understanding of welfare benefits, neighbourhood management and tenancy enforcement, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.…
