CNC Machinist (4‑day week) – Newton Aycliffe. Join a well‑established manufacturer that has supplied quality machined components to all industries for fifty years. This 4‑day week role offers day and evening shifts, a shift allowance, and training in programming.
Working Hours & ScheduleMon‑Thurs, 2‑week rotating shift schedule: first 2 weeks 7:00am‑3:30pm, next 2 weeks 2:30pm‑12:30am. A 21% hourly rate boost is paid for night shifts.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate Heidenheim and Fanuc multi‑axis mills (3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis).
- Program and adjust machining parameters for optimal performance.
- Perform quality checks, troubleshoot issues and make necessary machine adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workshop environment.
- Experience operating Heidenheim or Fanuc CNC machines.
- Hands‑on knowledge of 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis machining.
- Willingness to commute to the Shildon workshop.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
On‑the‑job training in CNC programming will be provided to support career progression.
Compensation & Benefits£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, qualifications and skill set. Includes a 21% shift allowance for night work and the opportunity for further progression within the organisation.
