- Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable – before, during, and after their appointment – about their treatment and oral health.
- Take dental radiographs and intra‑oral photos.
- Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment.
- Provide chair‑side assistance to Dr. Gust during treatment procedures.
- Document orthodontic care services by charting in patients’ records.
- Perform routine orthodontic duties, including changing wires, fitting bands, and adjusting orthodontic appliances.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient‑centric working environment.
- Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook).
- Experience as an orthodontic assistant preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Quick learner with problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records, scheduling, etc.
- Proficiency in fitting bands and brackets and tying in arch wires.
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player.
- Commitment to punctuality and reporting to work on time.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire for professional growth.
- Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.
