Physical Therapist Inpatient (Full Time)

Location: Medical Center - 600 Medical Center Drive, Newton, KS, 67114

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Inpatient Therapy Team at NMC Health. In this hospital-based role, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality therapy services to patients in an Inpatient setting. Your expertise and compassionate care will support recovery and improve quality of life for our patients as they heal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluating patients and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Providing evidence-based physical therapy services to inpatients and other designated levels of care
  • Supervising and guiding supportive staff and therapy students
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Documenting treatments, progress, and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards

    Participating in safety procedures, quality improvement activities, and department initiatives
  • Full Time or PRN options available
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Kansas
  • Must have, or immediately obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain it
  • Previous inpatient or hospital experience preferred, but not required
  • Member of APTA and/or KPTA preferred
Knowledge and Skills
  • Must know principles and practice of Physical Therapy; be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures and regulations; be aware of inter-department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques
  • Must be able to apply the theory of physical therapy; have the ability and competency to operate equipment of their position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
