We are currently seeking a Wound Care Nurse PRN to join our outpatient care team. In this role, you’ll provide professional nursing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds. The primary setting is the Outpatient Wound Care Center
, with occasional assistance provided for wound consultations on the Acute floor.
As a Wound Care Nurse, you’ll work closely with physicians, patients, and families to deliver specialized care that supports healing and comfort, while demonstrating accountability and leadership in the clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Providing age-appropriate, patient-centered wound care
- Building caring, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
- Collaborating with providers and care teams for optimal wound treatment planning
- Demonstrating strong clinical judgment, time management, and communication skills
- Supporting wound care consultations in both outpatient and inpatient settings
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing or diploma in nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school preferred
- Alternatively, graduation from a foreign RN pre‑licensure program that meets Kansas regulatory equivalency standards
Experience:
- Wound care experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
- Develop therapeutic relationships with an emphasis on empathy and support
- Proficient in computer systems and documentation
- Excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for safe patient care
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas (Compact License acceptable)
- Current certification in CPR/Basic Life Support
