We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager to lead our SBHC/IRU departments and support our commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for all aspects of unit operations, including clinical oversight, team development, performance management, and resource coordination. You will collaborate closely with leadership, physicians, and staff to ensure high-quality care and efficient daily operations. This position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to foster a supportive and productive team environment.
The Nurse Manager maintains 24-hour accountability for clinical, human, and material resources and functions as an integral part of the leadership team. This position reports to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO).
Key Responsibilities Include:- Overseeing daily operations and ensuring unit activities align with organizational goals
- Supporting and developing nursing staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation
- Monitoring clinical standards and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Managing staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe, quality patient care
- Collaborating with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve processes and outcomes
- Leading and participating in performance improvement initiatives
- Demonstrating effective decision‑making, professionalism, and leadership at all times
Education
- Associate Degree (ADN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program preferred
- Additional education in a related field may be considered
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience required
- Management or leadership experience preferred
- Ability to manage multifaceted projects and daily operations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Sound reasoning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
- Time-management skills and the ability to work independently while taking initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other systems relevant to the role
- Current Kansas RN license in good standing
- ACLS certification required
- Specialty certification highly preferred
