LPN Wound Care (Part Time)

Location: Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center - 800 Medical Center Drive, Newton, KS 67114

At NMC Health, we’re proud to provide high-quality healthcare services in a supportive, team-oriented environment. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Outpatient Wound Care Clinic.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides supportive and restorative nursing care within the framework of the nursing process in partnership with a Registered Nurse (RN).

This position consists of 25–30 hours per week working primarily in the Outpatient Wound Care Clinic, with occasional assistance for wound treatment on the acute care floor. Opportunities may exist for cross‑training with other health system departments to achieve full‑time hours.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing age‑appropriate nursing care to patients
  • Assisting with wound care treatments under the direction of an RN
  • Developing positive interpersonal relationships with patients and families, emphasizing compassionate care
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Listening and responding appropriately using both verbal and non‑verbal communication skills
  • Working independently while taking initiative on behalf of patient needs
  • Managing time effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment
  • Demonstrating accountability and responsibility for safe patient care
QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing

Experience:

  • Wound care experience preferred but not required

Knowledge &

Skills:

  • Ability to provide safe, age‑appropriate patient care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge required
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Licensure, Registration or Certification:

  • Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Kansas
  • Current CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
