Position Summary:

Primary setting is a hospital-based outpatient clinic with some secondary assist of wound care coverage to Acute and Inpatient Rehab settings.

The Registered Staff Nurse is a professional registered nurse who works in collaboration with the physician or mid-level provider to deliver quality care that is focused on the well-being of the patient and family. This position requires a customer service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering efficient care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups.

Independent decision making is expected in the execution of all duties. May be assigned to assume leadership responsibilities, therefore be able to delegate patient care and duties based on the ability of coworkers. Must strive to maintain the professional standards of nursing which include utilizing the theoretical framework of the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manage and evaluate patient care.

This position collaborates with the physician/mid-level provider and reports to the Clinic Manager.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Experience:

Wound Care experience preferred but not required

Knowledge and

Skills:
  • Knowledge of the normal signs of aging and ability to provide age appropriate care.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication and promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development.
  • Skill in time management with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Skill in interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
  • Ability to be sensitive and show positive regard for fellow employees, patients and families.
  • Ability to take direction, work efficiently under pressure, set priorities and use good judgment.
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility
  • Navigate electronic medical records with ease
Licensure, registration, or certification:
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kansas.
  • Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support.
