Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant

Pay Range$/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Review GAAP financial statements, budgets, analysis, and supporting work papers prepared by Property Accountants; develop and maintain high‑quality standards for the team
- Ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes and reporting are accurate and completed within scheduled dates
- Ensure that accounting practices are in accordance with GAAP
- Lead presentations to Senior Management on operating results
- Provide backup support for Property Accountants as needed; fulfill primary accounting responsibilities during leaves of absence, vacations, heavy workloads, and transition periods
- Support the department on special projects and Senior Management requests
- Manage assigned team including performance reviews, workload distributions, hiring, training, and cross‑training of staff
- Strive to improve procedures within the department and in the Accounting Department’s interaction with other departments
- Provide support to the Corporate Accounting and Property Management teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of combined (public or private) accounting experience, preferably within the Real Estate Industry
- Proficiency with Property Management/Accounting software (Yardi), preferred
- Strong proficiency with Excel and other Windows applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven technical accounting aptitude and skills required
- Strong attention to detail and solid analytical skills a must
- Team‑oriented, problem‑solver mindset
- Ability to manage and develop team members
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
