We are looking for dynamic and reliable individuals to work weekdays for a total of 20‑26 hours a week. We are very flexible and work with student/parent schedules. Pay depends on experience and qualifications. Apply today!

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a state‑licensed out‑of‑school time program operating full‑day programs. It provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervises a group of children.
  • Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
  • Supports academic learning being done remotely by students (in pandemic time if applicable).
  • Adheres to YMCA and state (Early Education & Care, EEC) standards including safety and cleanliness.
  • Attending staff meetings and training.
  • Active support of our DEIB statement and putting into practice our commitment to equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion. Continue to think about strategies to support diversity goals of the organization.
  • Follows YMCA and EEC policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
  • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship‑building skills in all interactions.
  • Works at special events (i.e., Snow Day Program, Holiday Programs) and vacation week programs, if needed.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and situations requiring first aid and/or CPR.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Ability to provide direct care to school‑age children while reinforcing health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to support children with their distance learning assignments being done remotely at the YMCA.
  • Ability to guide structured Clubs and enrichment activities.
  • Committing to support and further our anti‑racist work as an organization. Learning about our initiatives and the continuous work and being able to vocalize with members if needed.
  • Child CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and training within 30 days of hire date.
  • EEC training/registration prior to hire date.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
