Job Summary:
The Program Manager will oversee the end-to-end development and execution of new product programs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, quality standards, and budget constraints. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, vendors, and customers to deliver successful program outcomes.
Responsibilities- Support quotation process by providing accurate cost estimates and lead times.
- Determine optimal manufacturing routes considering cost, schedule, safety, and supplier capabilities.
- Review and analyze customer drawings and specifications to ensure product alignment.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing routes.
- Ensure on-time delivery of orders within budget.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks impacting schedule and quality.
- Collaborate with customer service and compliance teams to meet contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely Customer End-Item Data Packages.
- Comply with SOPs and safety regulations.
- Manage relationships with internal suppliers and external vendors to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to support program development.
- Conduct vendor facility visits as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Maintain BOMs and routes for accurate cost reporting.
- Ensure strategic inventory buffers are maintained.
- Monitor in-process inventory and manage reductions to align with demand.
- Investigate customer complaints and provide root cause analysis.
- Implement corrective actions and support quality audits.
- Support customer service and account managers in managing communications.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality.
- Partner with Sales and Product Management on new programs and initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in program management or engineering roles related to manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and vendor management.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, creating BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAI, CofC).
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams effectively.
