The Senior Development Engineer will join the R&D organization as a key contributor to the next generation robotic platform that aims to transform healthcare. This role involves hands‑on development of complex electro‑mechanical systems, from prototype through verification builds and testing, within a regulated medical device environment. The ideal candidate is a senior‑level R&D engineer with strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, experience in V&V activities, and expertise in documentation and inspection procedures.
Responsibilities- Develop test methods, protocols, execute tests, prepare reports, and release via ECOs
- Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes
- Refine requirements to better support V&V activities
- Analyze test results and apply statistical analysis as needed
- Support incoming inspection activities and fixture/equipment validation
- Contribute to multi‑disciplinary technical and process improvement projects
- Collaborate with vendors and resolve procurement issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across disciplines
- Manage and communicate assigned projects with cross‑functional teams
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or related field
- 10 years of experience in complex electromechanical system development within R&D
- Experience in regulated industries (medical device or aerospace)
- Proficiency in developing test methods, protocols, and releasing documentation
- Hands‑on experience in assembly, integration, and testing of electro‑mechanical systems
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and technical leadership skills
- Experience with fixture and process validation
- Proficiency in statistical tools/software (e.g., Minitab)
- Knowledge of industry best practices for electromechanical system development
- Experience in project management, including timeline estimation and work breakdown structures
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience in design transfer/new product introduction
- Knowledge of DFM/A, Six Sigma, and statistical tolerance analysis
- Familiarity with ASME drafting standards including GD&T (Y14.5-2018)
- CAD proficiency (Solid Works preferred)
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink or Lab View
- Background in fixture/equipment validation and process improvement
