Per Diem Position at West Newton Healthcare.

The Activity Assistant is responsible for providing group and individual activities for residents to promote an engaging and joyous atmosphere.

• Assist the Activity Director in planning, developing, and implementing activities.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Facilitate activities.
• Work a varied schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities (QAPI) as requested.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information (HIPAA) at all times.
• Provide customer service oriented support.
• Exercise patience with challenged or difficult residents.
• Know activity programs for adult and geriatric residents.
• Skill in conducting arts & crafts, music, games, and associated activities.
• Demonstrate organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Work independently, problem solve, and make decisions as needed.
• Create a resident-centered environment.

• A minimum of a high school education or equivalency diploma (required).
• Prior experience in the long‑term care environment (preferred).
