PerDiem Position
This position requires extensive knowledge in the treatment of obesity and the use of behavioral modalities to effect change. It ensures optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service, and sound financial management of preoperative and postoperative bariatric surgery patients at NWH Center for Weight Loss Surgery. Working conditions will involve being on site as well as the potential to work remotely and occasional evenings for support group facilitation.
Responsible to provide advanced clinical and administrative responsibilities within clinical nutrition in addition to managing the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients which includes providing nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population.
- Provides advanced clinical dietitian responsibilities which may include specialty or advanced patient population, participation in clinical care forums to serve as resource on nutrition related concerns, mentors new staff, and evaluation of new products.
- Assist leadership team in program planning and proposals to improve processes or improve efficiency; plans, conducts, supervises, and evaluates the education experiences of dietetic interns and students.
- Based on multiple criterion including assessment of nutritional needs, physician's orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary health care plans, and standards of quality nutritional care that appropriately meet age, psychosocial and physical needs of patients, the Dietitian develops and implements nutrition plan of care for patients.
- Documentation of all nutrition related information including assessment, nutrition therapy recommendations and care plan, follow up data and changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other related orders and pertinent information.
- Counsel, educate, and develop resources and materials for the education of patients and families on prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided; review patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications EducationBachelor's Degree Clinical Dietitian required or
Master's Degree Dietitian preferred.
No experience in lieu of a degree.
Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] preferred.
Registered Dietitian [RD] preferred.
Registered Dietitican Nutritionist [RDN] preferred.
Clinical Dietitian experience with multiple patient populations 3-5 years required.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesGood communication skills.
Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to guide, teach, and motivate all patient age populations.
Schedule will be Per Diem coverage for Tuesday-Friday, 8a-4:30pm. Availability to train consistently Tuesday-Friday for first 30-60 days until proficient in practice process.
