Position Summary:

Operator sets up and operates all machining equipment associated with the manufacturing of Tantalum and Niobium products, specifically Lathes, milling, drilling and cutting, ensuring the highest finished product quality.

• Set up, operate and program lathes both manual and CNC.
• Set up, operate and program milling machines both manual and CNC.
• Set up and operate saws and drilling equipment.
• Interpret drawings and plan work in a proper operational sequence.
• Selectes and set “speeds” and “feeds” based on material being processed.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify that all work is completed within the required tolerances.
• Inspect and maintain all tooling required to support the machining process.
• Perform troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.
• Required to process material samples as required.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and high product quality.
• Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition on a daily basis by following 5S Standard Work practices.
• Cross train in other process areas as time permits.

• Requires a high school or vocational degree or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of machine shop experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Must know how to operate lathes and milling machines.
• Display competence in operating and maintaining more than one machine in defined department.
• Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language.
• This position may require the applicant to be licensed under certain United States laws and regulations.

• Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor and requires ambulation.
• Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee, a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
