• Loads and unloads sheets of material onto the spools of the Intermediate Mill or plates and pucks onto the conveyor of the Meco Mill.
• Assists in the inspection of the material being rolled, measuring thickness and rolling width.
• Where applicable, inserts material protecting device during operation.
• Assists in roll changes and welds leader ends.
• Assist troubleshooting of equipment problems.
• Inspects material to ensure product adheres to specifications outlined by the production order and notifies the supervisor of any problems and/or material defects.
• Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains high quality standards.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition daily by following 5S standard work practices.

• High school or vocational degree or equivalent.
• Experience in a mill product or metal working manufacturing preferred.
• Follows good safety practices, complies with PPE requirements, and follows environmental policies.
• Basic math skills required.
• Understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Good communication skills including the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with some machining experience is a plus.
• May require the use of fork trucks, overhead cranes, hand carts and hand tools. Must obtain lockout/tagout certification.
• Must be capable of keeping neat and accurate records.

• Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor.
• Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate.

$23.76–$29.35 per hour.
