SEO Specialist​/Content Writer

Cannabis Creative Group (CCG) is an award-winning digital marketing agency specializing in cannabis and CBD. We’re looking for a Content Writer who loves long-form writing and can also turn out punchy short-form copy when a campaign calls for it. Most of your time will go to blogs, articles, guides, and website pages that educate readers, build client authority, and rank in search.

You’ll also write ad copy for paid search and social campaigns.

You should be comfortable with SEO basics and eager to go deeper. As you grow in the role, you’ll take on more SEO work such as keyword research, content optimization, and site audits.

This is a contract-to-hire position at 20–30 hours per week
, starting immediately, with the opportunity to convert to a permanent role.

• Research and write blog posts, articles, guides, and other long-form content for a range of client brands
• Write and refresh website pages, including service, product, location, and landing pages
• Turn keyword research and briefs into well-structured, readable content that ranks
• Pitch content ideas and help plan editorial calendars that attract and convert customers
• Update and optimize existing content to improve performance
• Write meta titles, meta descriptions, and headers
• Adapt tone and voice to each client’s brand and audience

• Write ad copy for paid search, paid social, and display campaigns
• Write headline and copy variations for testing
• Support email, social, and promotional copy as needed

• Conduct keyword research to guide new content and improve existing pages
• Learn and support technical SEO audits and competitive analysis
• Track content performance using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and Moz (or similar)

• Collaborate with strategists, designers, and account managers
• Write within the advertising and compliance limits of the cannabis and CBD industry

• 2+ years of professional content writing experience (agency experience a plus)
• A portfolio with strong long-form samples, such as blog posts, articles, or website content
• Experience writing short-form or ad copy
• Strong research skills and the ability to write clearly about new or technical topics
• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals: keywords, on-page optimization, and meta tags
• Excellent grammar, self-editing, and attention to detail
• Strong time management and comfort taking feedback
• Availability for 20–30 hours per week and the ability to start immediately

• Experience with SEO tools (Moz, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or similar)
• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
• Experience writing for paid search or paid social campaigns
• Familiarity with Word Press or other content management systems; basic HTML
• Experience writing for cannabis, CBD, or other regulated industries
