Job Description

The Cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures. The Cook will assist the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Services to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. This role involves cooking a variety of dishes in large quantities, managing kitchen stations, and contributing to a healthy and enjoyable dining experience for residents in long‑term care, short‑term rehab, skilled nursing, LTACH, and sub‑acute care settings.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present meals for residents in multiple care settings.
  • Ensure food safety and quality by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work with the Head Cook to maintain daily menus and special dietary requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assist with inventory management and prep work as needed.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility (preferred).
  • Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
  • Strong customer‑service skills.
