Customer Service​/Sales

Overview

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project. They greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments. They maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensure it is clean, shop-able, and safe.

They provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, correcting hazards or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers. Departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Floor coverings, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental.

Position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

• Greet, qualify, recommend and close customers in the relevant department.
• Learn product information using company tools and assist customers with sales of products and projects.
• Maintain in-stock condition and ensure clean, shop-able, and safe department area.
• Follow safety policies and training; report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Collaborate with Department Supervisors and other departments to meet customer needs.

• Experience in customer service or sales preferred
• Ability to learn product information and use company tools
• Strong communication and customer service skills
