Employment Training Specialist (Per-Diem) – Devereux
Place:
New Jersey (statewide). Salary: $20.50/hr, increasing with education/experience.
As an Employment Training Specialist, you will partner with dedicated professionals to support individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. You will identify interests, skills, and workplace supports; negotiate customized jobs; provide ongoing support; and use data to evaluate and improve interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Identify the individual's interests to facilitate a job/career of choice.
- Identify the individual's skills and talents using functional community-based assessments.
- Identify workplace supports that assist the individual with a disability in becoming employed and/or maintaining employment.
- Identify and negotiate customized jobs for individuals with disabilities.
- Address employer concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Use data collection techniques to document effectiveness of workplace supports and guide fading.
- Provide or facilitate on- and off-job supports to increase employment odds.
- Collect and analyze performance data to assist decisions about effectiveness of supports; modify or develop new supports as needed.
- Identify and develop natural supports in the workplace.
- High School Diploma/GED (minimum).
- Valid non‑provisional driver’s license.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Able to attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays.
