Position Summary

Responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well‑being of the residents within the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the community follows all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to clinical care.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports occurrence trends and, if necessary, develops and implements improvement plans.
  • Partners with the Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain all resident and team member health safety.
  • Partners with the pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
  • Provides clinical expertise to licensed nurses.
  • Assists with educational presentations as assigned by the Administrator.
  • Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/Service Plan process, including documentation for residents with a change in health care status.
  • Oversees the completion of the monthly updates and reports any pertinent changes to the responsible party.
  • Partners with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential changes in service or medication levels when applicable.
  • Ensures the resident’s service plan is updated as indicated by state regulations.
  • Participates in community awareness activities and community relations.
  • Maintains communication with residents’ families and/or responsible parties regarding changes in care or health concerns.
  • Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.
  • Schedules clinical staff on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available.
  • Participates in a rotating on‑call schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides supervision to LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as assigned, to assure delivery of consistently high quality care to residents, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications Educational Requirements and Experience
  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing;
    Registered Nurse preferred.
  • One (1) year in a nursing leadership role;
    Senior Living experience preferred.
  • BSL Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new applications.
  • Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the residents.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interacts with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Responds promptly to resident needs.
Environmental Adaptability
  • Works primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled setting.
  • Team members may be exposed to blood and/or body fluids with potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
  • Possible exposure to unpleasant odors.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They may occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance of a second employee and/or mechanical devices.

The employee must be able to push up to 350 lbs. (wheelchair). Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
