Carolina Caring is seeking a full-time Departmental Resource RN to deliver nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with physician orders, interdisciplinary assessments, and individualized plans of care. This role also provides support and education to patients’ caregivers.

The Departmental Resource RN offers flexible nursing support across Carolina Caring’s hospice service areas, including inpatient units, home care, and facility settings. This position ensures continuity of high-quality patient care by filling staffing needs, covering callouts, and supporting admissions and on-call responsibilities. The RN demonstrates adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to meet the needs of patients and caregivers across all care environments.

Schedule

& Responsibilities:
  • Works a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation to provide consistent coverage.
  • Covers callouts or open shifts at any of Carolina Caring’s Hospice Houses.
  • Availability to work 7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM shifts, based on staffing needs.
  • May provide admissions coverage, after-hours on-call support, triage, community patient visits, and follow-up assignments.
  • Full-time, benefit-eligible role paid for 40 hours/week
    , including the 7 days off in the rotation
Employee Type:

Full-Time | 7 Days On / 7 Days Off

One to three years of clinical experience preferred. Hospice or home health experience preferred.

Required Degree:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Current, unrestricted North Carolina nursing license required. Must maintain CPR certification.
