Inside Sales Representative – Precision Castparts

Summary
:
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is accountable for providing excellent customer service with a commercial focus. The ISR is expected to complete daily tasks in a timely and accurate manner while meeting and exceeding quarterly targets. The position focuses on prospecting and new business development, enabling the ISR to develop into a Field Sales Manager role.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers via phone calls and emails.
  • Make accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide customers with quotations.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements and close sales.
  • Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on future buying trends.
  • Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
  • Negotiate variations in price, delivery, and specifications with sales managers.
  • Advise on forthcoming product developments and upsell special promotions.
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities.
  • Record sales and order information.
  • Review personal sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Other duties as directed by the Commercial Manager or Sales Manager.
  • Identify and investigate customer requirements and provide solutions.
  • Partner with outside Field Sales Managers to drive sales and improve customer service.
  • Conduct proactive outbound calling to sales leads to develop customer base.
  • Develop an understanding of competitors and create strategies to gain market share based on analysis.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • College graduate in business preferred but not essential.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Strong sales experience in a relevant environment (e.g., Manufacturing, B2B).

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop face‑to‑face sales techniques.
  • Strong team player and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative in a sales environment.
  • Highly driven and enthusiastic sales professional.
  • Proven record of negotiating and securing new business.
  • Ability to assimilate and practice key account management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with typing speed of 40 WPM.
