Purpose of Position: will include metal cutting, fabrication, MIG/TIG welding of steel,
and aluminum. You will work with blueprints and be responsible for the rigging and
moving of heavy equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical
background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform metal cutting and fabrication tasks according to specifications and blueprints.
Conduct MIG/TIG welding on steel and aluminum welding.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
Operate and maintain welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment.
Ensure all welds meet quality standards and specifications.
Operate manual milling machines and lathes to create precision parts and components.
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure precision and accuracy.
Utilize rigging techniques to safely move and position heavy equipment and materials.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including grinders, saws, and drills.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring shop cleanliness at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and ensure efficient workflow.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used and occasional supporting of breakdown team and PM team
Requirments
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or experience in welding, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, fabrication, and machining.
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding of steel; experience in aluminum welding is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Strong knowledge of rigging techniques and experience in moving heavy equipment.
Familiarity with a variety of welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment.
Operate manual milling machines and lathes to create precision parts and components.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including grinders, saws, and drills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Willingness to work with various teams including engineering, division, and outside contractors.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Working Conditions
Good working conditions.
Heavy lifting in rare instances typically assisted.
Majority of time light lifting is involved.
Some exposure to elements of dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, and noise, but none to the extent of being disagreeable
