Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and organized Clinical Assistant to join our medical team and provide support directly to Dr. Bernal. This role involves assisting with patient triage, setting up patients for electromyography (EMG) tests, managing the office workflow, and various other clinical tasks. While certification as a medical assistant is not required, strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Triage:
Assist in the initial assessment of patients, including taking vital signs and gathering relevant medical history. - EMG Preparation and Management:
Prepare patients for EMG procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the process. Set up EMGs, upload EMGs to Sierra Summit, place impressions from progress notes into reports, and assign reports to the proper administrative staff. - Medication Management:
Help with medication refill encounters and handle medication refill emails. - Clinical Assistance:
Reconstitute Botox, assist in injections (e.g., Botox, knee), and assist in EMGs as needed. - Office Workflow Management:
Coordinate and manage the daily workflow in the office to ensure smooth operations. This includes scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling administrative tasks. - Appointment Coordination:
Call to confirm appointments and reschedule appointments as needed. - Direct Support to Dr. Bernal:
Provide direct assistance to Dr. Bernal with various tasks, including reminding the doctor about tasks and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. - Supply Management:
Check EMG/injection supplies at each office and monitor medical supplies inventory, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and properly stocked. - Patient Communication:
Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in using office software and medical record systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
