Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers, delivering an exceptional experience and ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Perform basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Support a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including volunteering to travel to other stores in the market.
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review, collect, and document patient information and monitor vaccine supplies.
- Comply with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If no minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old.
- If no minimum educational requirement is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalency program.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.

- Concentrate on tasks over time.
- Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
- Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation:
- Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
- Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately.

Skills:- Use and understand verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.
- Practice active listening and appropriate questioning.
- Mathematical Reasoning:
- Use math to determine quantities for prescription dispensing.
- Problem Resolution:
- Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options.
- Physical Demands:
- Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
- Lift, scan, and bag items up to 20 lbs.
- Reach, move, and lift items in multiple directions.
- Perform tasks requiring precision and speed.
- Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work at the home store and travel across the market as needed.
