Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attention to detail required when reading op sheets, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed, and recording data.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers or bearings and works them to test free movement.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies
  • Performs visual and mechanical inspection as required to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Mechanical inspection may require the use of GO / NO GO gauges, Calipers, micrometers, height gauges and other measuring tools. First, In Process, and Last Piece Inspection documentation and serialization documentation may be required. Special attention to detail required during visual inspection for part / assembly imperfections, scratches, dents, and discoloration.
  • Use drill press or hand tools to deburr, drill, tap, ream, or burnish features
  • Operate Laser Engraver with special attention to product description and serialization requirements.
  • Support job pulls / kits as backup to primary job / kit picker
  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. This may include sound testing, digital multimeter readings, and centrifuge verification testing
  • Works in a cell as member of an assembly group assembling specific parts and passing unit to another worker within specified time periods.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require and shifts from one station to another to complete required assemblies.
  • Transports material and operates hoist to move material.
  • Packs parts and assemblies to next operation or shipping per procedures.
  • Involved in Continuous Improvement / 5S projects
  • Train coworkers on job specific tasks
  • Completes basic reworks per instruction.
  • Hand deburr parts as required.
  • Enter all time, part count, and quality documentation into required computer systems as required.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with 1 – 3 years of electro-mechanical mechanical assembly experience. Ability to use basic precision measuring equipment, such as micrometer, vernier, multimeter.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to present numerical data effectively and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply…
