Role Overview
We are currently looking to recruit an Administrator to provide administrative support for the Cambridge Adult Eating Disorder Team based at Addenbrookes Hospital. The post involves data inputting of patient information, face‑to‑face and telephone contact with patients and clinical staff, writing letters and emails, and providing other general administration duties to support the service and team.
Responsibilities- Word processing of all forms of correspondence, reports and summaries that are required by the team.
- Undertake diary management for clinicians and/or managers, as required.
- Organise clinics and associated appointments for clinics, using appropriate systems to manage work.
- Provide operational support to colleagues and supervise Band 2 administration staff within the team, as directed by the Line Manager.
- Deal with staff and service user requests that may be part of a cash office function, as and when required, and in accordance with Trust procedures.
- Input and update service user information and team activity on computerised information systems, creating service user notes where necessary and according to policy.
- Maintain filing in both paper and electronic records, ensuring that it is kept up-to-date at all times and that notes are tracked and received in a timely manner.
- Ensure good customer service by providing a professional and effective telephone service, taking accurate messages and providing information and signposting as requested and appropriate.
- Undertake training of new staff as directed by the Line Manager and/or other managers.
- Provide cover as directed by the Line Manager for other members of the admin team in their absence, and assist with their workloads as necessary and undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the grade of the post.
- Great communication skills.
- Well organised and able to work under time restraints and pressure.
- Sense of accountability and ability to work as a team player.
- Strong customer service orientation and confidence in telephone and face‑to‑face communication.
- Previous administration or administrative support experience is desirable.
