Position Overview

The role provides high-quality clinical care to patients presenting with acute emergency gynecology and early pregnancy problems. The key responsibility is to deliver emergency acute gynecology cover during daytime (weekdays only) for the Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Unit, supervising junior doctors on call.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant‑delivered care for daytime emergency gynecology and early pregnancy patients.
  • Supervise junior doctors on call.
  • Possibly contribute special interest areas such as menopause, ambulatory gynecology, recurrent miscarriage and scanning.
Working Hours

Daytime, weekdays only. 1:3 on‑call commitment shared between three acute gynecology consultants. No out‑of‑hours or weekend on‑call coverage.

Eligibility & Qualifications
  • Fully registered with the GMC and ideally holding a CCT in Obstetrics & Gynecology or within six months of award at the time of interview.
  • Applicants who cannot work full time or wish to job‑share are welcome.
  • Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
  • Non‑UK applicants to possess IELTS/OET before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
