Specialist Adult Speech and Language Therapist
You will work across adult acute inpatient wards, managing patients with complex dysphagia, communication, and cognitive-communication needs, including:
- General/acute medicine, Surgical wards, Neurosciences, Older adults and complex medical patients
- Patients with multi-morbidity, frailty, and fluctuating medical status
You will be expected to:
- Independently assess and manage complex acute caseload
- Make autonomous clinical decisions and provide risk-based recommendations
- Work closely with MDTs to support safe and timely discharge
- Support service flow and patient safety in a busy acute hospital
- Contribute to service development, audit, and governance activities
Ideally you will have some prior experience in treating benign Voice disorders and Head and Neck cancer patients, however support to develop competency in this area can be offered. You will have access to supervision with a Highly Specialist Voice & HN Therapist and we would be willing to support CPD in this area.
