Overview

Are you motivated by continuous improvement and learning? Are you a natural communicator who can explain, train, and support the company in adopting tech? Do you take ownership of your work and see things through to completion? Are you looking for more variety, creativity and opportunity than a typical IT support role? If so, our IT Operations Coordinator role at Costello Medical could be the ideal next step in your career.

About

the Role

A Different Kind of IT Role Many IT roles focus on a narrow set of tasks and rigid procedures, with complex work escalated away from you and learning opportunities stifled. As an IT Operations Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to support with major projects and complex requests, getting wide-ranging exposure to real IT. You will be encouraged to engage deeply with technology, own, deliver and maintain a range of IT services, procedures and documentation, and to proactively identify service improvements in an environment where critical thinking and constructive feedback are celebrated.

The IT Operations Coordinator is an integral part of our small and collaborative Technical Operations team. You will be mentored by senior colleagues who will support you through learning our technologies and methods, and as your skills develop, you will have the opportunity to shape your role, taking on responsibilities aligned to your interests. If you are well‑organised, curious, and looking for an opportunity to take on challenging work in a highly supportive environment, the IT Operations Coordinator role could be a great fit for you.

Responsibilities
  • Core IT administration: managing user accounts, devices, access requests, proactively and to an excellent standard
  • Handling a range of technical requests via a ticketing system: understanding a user's requirements and delivering practical solutions
  • Working with people: providing training and documentation, communicating about updates and incidents, co‑ordinating and scheduling
  • Projects and changes: designing, planning, testing, implementing and embedding a range of technical improvements

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Office 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra , Intune, Defender
  • Experience with MacOS
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages, particularly Power Shell, Bash, SQL
Benefits

This role offers far more than a typical early‑career IT position. Because we outsource much of our infrastructure and frontline support, you will spend less time on repetitive troubleshooting and more time improving systems, supporting colleagues and contributing to meaningful projects. You will join a small, ambitious team where your work has real impact, your voice is heard, and IT is valued as a trusted partner.

You will gain experience with modern, evolving technologies while helping shape how IT operates within a growing organisation. You will also be part of a company committed to improving global health, with a strong emphasis on culture, collaboration and social responsibility. Costello Medical has been listed in the Top 100 Best Companies to Work For since 2017 and holds B Corporation accreditation.

The starting salary for this role is £26,250 to £38,000 per annum, depending on previous experience. Candidates with a strong IT background will be offered a salary at the higher end of this banding. We also offer a strong benefits package that includes discretionary profit share bonuses paid twice per year, private medical insurance, critical illness cover, full funding for external training, and more.
