Assistant Accountant

Downey Osborne is delighted to be working with a company who is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance function on a permanent basis. This position offers a condensed working week & is based in Newtownabbey. About You:

Experience in:
Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (actively studying and progressing) Recent experience in a fast-paced finance environment Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiar with accounting software A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of prioritising tasks effectively Ability to work independently and within a team About Your New Role:
Calculate and process accruals and prepayments Maintain fixed asset and intercompany accounts Prepare month-end reconciliations and assist with management accounts Support VAT returns and yearly financial statement activities Assist with audit preparations, budget setting, and forecasting Oversight of payroll function and collating data Assist in monitoring financial controls and system updates Report building, preparation and maintenance Uphold health & safety policies and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace environment Interested?
