Reed Business Support are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary for a busy, well established law firm. As a Legal Secretary you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to their Fee Earners in the Family Department. Benefits:

Prepare correspondence, bills, and documents through audio typing and word processing. Manage electronic client files on Leap, including compliance checks and procedures. Attend to clients in person and via telephone, providing support in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive representation of the firm. Handle necessary photocopying, appointment scheduling, meeting arrangements, and diary management. Check own work to minimise errors and ensure accuracy.

Assist in the personal organisation of the fee-earner through diary management, including key dates. Undertake specific training as required and take responsibility for self-development. Maintain confidentiality of all firm’s and clients’ documentation and information. Conduct new client intakes, including taking relevant details and performing conflict checks. Undertake ad hoc tasks and provide support to other secretaries as needed. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Proven legal secretarial experience, particularly in Family Law. Proficient in audio typing. Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/Grade 5 or above, or equivalent qualifications. Excellent organisational ability and client care skills. Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.

Good understanding of Legal Aid contractual requirements and procedures. Experience using a client case management system and Legal Aid System - CCMS.
