Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Hydraulic Engineer/Fitter role based in Newtownabbey. The role involves installing, assembling, and maintaining hydraulic systems and associated components across a variety of industrial applications. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, performing repairs, conducting routine inspections, and testing systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. The Hydraulic Engineer/Fitter will interpret technical drawings and specifications, select appropriate parts and materials, and ensure work is completed to relevant quality and safety standards.

The role also includes collaborating with colleagues and customers, providing technical advice, and supporting continuous improvement in workshop and site practices.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, including installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair.
  • Experience or understanding of Water Engineering and Water Resource Management in applied engineering contexts.
  • Background in Hydrology and related fluid dynamics principles beneficial for system design and performance assessment.
  • Mechanical Engineering skills, including assembly, use of tools and equipment, and reading technical drawings.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, hydraulic, or industrial engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and safe working practices in workshop and on-site environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Full driving license and flexibility to work on customer sites when required.
