Group Operative - Shunter - Foodservice

As a Shunter you will:

• Shunt vehicles around the yard to designated areas
• Maintain lorry hygiene, perform daily water/oil/fuel checks
• Control and account for cage placements
• Execute manual handling (pushing, pulling, lifting heavy loads)
• Provide support to the loading team when shunting duties are absent

Minimum criteria:

• Hold a valid Cat C+E licence
• Hold a valid, in‑date Driver Qualification Card (CPC up to date)
• Strong awareness of health and safety – especially in a busy transport yard

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of vehicle refrigeration
• Knowledge of tail lift operation
• Attention to detail
• Strong health and safety awareness in a busy transport yard

This full‑time position is 38 hours per week, typically Sunday to Thursday 4pm to midnight, job to finish. The warehouse operates 24 hours, so flexibility is required.

Job to finish: colleagues are expected to stay until the day's workload is completed and orders ready for dispatch.
