Sales Assistant – HSL Chairs Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland

HSL Chairs is looking for a Sales Assistant to join our welcoming team. Deliver an exceptional level of personalised service both in‑store and in customers’ homes, guiding them to feel‑good furniture that improves their wellbeing.

Location: Belfast
Salary: £12.30 per hour
Hours: 28 per week

From the moment customers walk through the door or you visit them at home, you’ll create a warm and memorable experience. This includes greeting them, helping them with weather‑related items, guiding them through our unique chair‑fitting service, and helping them discover the wellbeing benefits of our carefully designed chairs and sofas. You’ll also keep the showroom looking fresh, tidy and welcoming.

• Provide warm, empathetic, friendly customer service both in‑store and in‑home.
• Guide customers to suitable products, emphasising style, fabric and size that match their needs.
• Maintain showroom presentation and cleanliness.
• Support the unique chair‑fitting service, ensuring customers receive a personalised experience.
• Work a mix of weekdays and weekends, as our store is open every day.

• Warm, empathetic, and friendly approach.
• Attention to detail and pride in presentation.
• Passion for people and helping others.
• Previous retail sales and customer service experience is a plus, but enthusiasm, a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
• Certified DBS check (required for this customer‑facing role).
• Honesty, professionalism, openness to learning and feedback, and a team‑player mindset.

You’ll be supported with in‑depth training through our HSL Academy at Comfort House in West Yorkshire, with hands‑on learning and expert guidance from our independent Occupational Therapist, Julie Jennings.
