Within this, our Fresh Foods operation is a fast-paced, high-volume environment focused on accuracy, efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety across chilled and fresh product ranges. About the Role As our Night shift Team Leader, you will take responsibility for coordinating a busy, multi-skilled warehouse team across assembly, loading, replenishment and forking activities. Youll plan and allocate colleagues and equipment throughout the shift, responding to changing operational demands to ensure orders are assembled accurately, stock moves efficiently through the warehouse and vehicles are loaded safely and ready to depart on time.

This is a hands-on leadership role, so youll be visible on the warehouse floor and ready to provide practical support wherever it is needed. Youll keep a close eye on productivity, accuracy, quality and hygiene standards, stepping in quickly when issues arise and making sure sufficient manpower is available to maintain a smooth and consistent flow of product throughout the operation.

People leadership will be an important part of your role. Youll set clear expectations, encourage teamwork and accountability, and support colleagues to build their skills, confidence and performance. Youll also assist with day-to-day performance conversations and help address attendance, conduct or capability concerns fairly and consistently, in line with company procedures. Working closely with colleagues across different departments, youll communicate priorities, resolve operational challenges and help ensure each area of the night shift works together seamlessly.

Where processes are not followed or standards fall short, youll investigate what has happened, identify the root cause and put practical measures in place to prevent the issue from happening again. Above all, youll lead by example, creating a positive, safety-focused working environment while identifying better ways of working and contributing to continuous improvement across the night shift warehouse operation. Joining us as a Fresh Team Leader, the minimum criteria youll need is: A minimum of two years experience in a relevant logistics or warehouse role.

Experience across warehouse activities such as order assembly, loading, replenishment, goods-in, put-away or stock movement. A current Reach Truck licence (up to 10m) Experience using RF equipment and warehouse management systems Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Strong health and safety awareness. Experience providing guidance, supervision or leadership to colleagues. The attributes youll need A proactive and driven attitude, with the ambition to take ownership of your area and continuously look for ways to improve how things are done.

The ability to work collaboratively with others, demonstrating strong teamwork skills. A self-starter mindset, confident in working on your own initiative and taking action when opportunities for improvement arise. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately within set deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment. Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to changing operational demands.

The ability to influence, motivate and encourage others to perform to the best of their ability. A solution-focused and improvement-driven approach, with the confidence to identify operational challenges and suggest practical ways to improve processes and efficiency. Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with warehouse teams as well as senior leaders and managers. The ability to work with integrity, managing people fairly, consistently and in line with company standards.

It Is desirable if you have Previous experience managing or supervising a team within an operational environment. Manual Handling training. Additional relevant MHE licences, such as LLOP or Powered Pallet Truck. First Aid training. Experience supporting performance management or continuous improvement activities.
