Part Time 32 hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Working Pattern:
Monday to Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm;

Temporary Support Community Investment Through Effective Grant Management Honeycomb is pleased to partner with Ards and North Down Borough Council in the recruitment of a temporary Grants Officer to join the Sports Development team. This rewarding opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in administering grant programmes that positively impact local communities across the Borough. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual with experience in grants administration, financial processes, or public sector support services.
The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient management of funding schemes while supporting wider departmental objectives. Main Duties and Responsibilities As a Grants Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the administration of grant funding programmes and maintaining accurate records. Leading community outreach to engage with local clubs and individuals who need grant support. Providing administrative and clerical support using a range of digital systems and software packages. Managing correspondence, enquiries and requests from residents, community groups, and stakeholders. Assisting with the preparation of reports, statistical information and documentation for management, committees, and Council meetings.
Recording and distributing accurate meeting minutes when required. Processing financial transactions and supporting budget monitoring activities. Maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and electronic filing systems to ensure information is up to date and accessible. Supporting procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, and monitoring stock levels where required. Assisting with the maintenance and updating of website content relating to grants and community programmes. Handling customer feedback and complaints in accordance with Council procedures.
Working collaboratively across departments to ensure projects and deadlines are delivered successfully. Adhering to all Council policies relating to health and safety, equality, data protection, and customer service. Performing additional duties appropriate to the level of the post. Essential Requirements Qualifications 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics at Grade C/Level 4 or above. 2 Years administration experience (preferably in a grants capacity) Skills and Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Experience At least two years' experience in a grants administration, financial administration, or similar administrative role.
Experience of maintaining accurate records and document management systems. Practical experience using Microsoft Excel for data management, monitoring, and reporting purposes. What is on Offer?
