Electronic Design Engineer

The Role

You’ll act as a technical authority within the electronics team, leading the design and delivery of robust hardware solutions while supporting wider R&D objectives. The role combines deep technical ownership with mentoring, design governance, and close collaboration across disciplines.

• Translate product requirements into robust electronic hardware designs
• Own system architecture, schematics, component selection, and PCB design oversight
• Lead prototype builds, board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety, reliability, and environmental requirements
• Apply DFM/DFA principles and support manufacturing and early production builds
• Manage component availability, alternates, and obsolescence risks
• Lead design reviews, technical decision-making, and issue resolution
• Maintain controlled documentation, BOMs, and compliance records
• Support R&D delivery by managing priorities and removing technical blockers
• Coach and support engineers, contributing to a high-performing technical team

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience delivering electronics designs from concept to production
• Strong knowledge of analogue, digital, and power electronics
• Experience using simulation tools (e.g. LTspice, Proteus, Simulink)
• Understanding of embedded electronics and C/C++
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Instrumentation or monitoring systems
• Reflectometry-based or signal-analysis technologies
• Communications theory or related disciplines
