Section Engineer

About The Role

EKFB, a joint‑venture of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall, has been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking a Section Engineer with Drainage experience for our Major Infrastructure project. The position is based in the Greatworth to Southam area.

The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations.

Responsibilities include reporting to the Sub Agent, supervising the site engineering team through construction to close‑out, assisting with temporary works design, liaising with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials, managing the site setting‑out team, developing and supporting Site Engineers, identifying and resolving technical problems, monitoring and coordinating subcontractors, ensuring contractual compliance, providing current information and resources, and assisting with programme, progress report, resource and cost plan production and financial forecasting.

• HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute (ICE) membership.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
• Experience in drainage is essential.
• Must have own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
• Full driving licence required.
• Competencies:
• SMSTS or SSSTS; CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor.
